ARMADA TOWNSHIP BOARD REGULAR MEETING MINUTES 23121 East Main Armada, MI 48005 NOVEMBER 14, 2012 7:00 p.m. CALL TO ORDER: 7 p.m. by Supervisor Paterek. MEMBERS PRESENT: Smith, Paterek, Lobeck, Ruthenberg and Swiacki MEMBERS ABSENT: None MINUTES: Swiacki moved Lobeck seconded to approve regular meeting minutes of October 10, 2012 as presented. Motion CARRIED Swiacki moved Smith seconded to approve special meeting minutes of October 24, 2012 as presented. Motion CARRIED Ruthenberg moved Lobeck seconded to approve special meeting minutes of November 7, 2012 as presented. Motion CARRIED SET/AMEND AGENDA: Swiacki moved Ruthenberg seconded to amend agenda: Move 8 a) Heart of America Memorial to New Business under k). Add under New Business: l) General Fund: Budget amendments, m) Fire Department: Dale Rottman – Retirement and n) Fire Department: Nick Walkowski – Asst. Fire Chief. Motion CARRIED CURRENT BILLS: Swiacki moved Ruthenberg seconded, to approve the previously paid bills of $36,627.80 – township checks #22297 thru #22368, fire checks #11922 thru #11962, the payroll checks of $50,163.57 – check #10598, thru #10687 and the current list of bills of $6,456.82, township checks #22369 thru #22372 and fire checks #11963 thru 11974 for a total of $93,248.19 as presented. Paterek asked a question about the $1250 paid to the Fire Department for snow removal. He does not remember that being a two-year contract and or the board approving it for this year. Swiacki stated it is a two-year contract and it is in the minutes. Paterek stated provided that is in the minutes take roll. She will be working with Gary Goedtel and Matt Goetzinger on this project. Bobcean: Swiacki stated that based on Chief Jerzewski’s salary the 4% distribution amount is $1990.84 and Tom and Kevin’s is $1098.77 at 3% each based on salary. Swiacki moved Ruthenberg seconded to approve expenditure of $1990.84 to ING for Steve Jerzewski’s retirement fund. Motion CARRIED Farmland rental: Supervisor Paterek read a letter from Ron Gaier. Paterek moved Ruthenberg seconded to advertise for a five (5) year farmland rental contract. Motion CARRIED Policies & Procedures – Section 7.2: Swiacki moved Lobeck seconded to change current petty cash from $25 to $100. Ayes: Paterek, Smith, Lobeck, Ruthenberg, Swiacki Motion CARRIED Paterek moved Lobeck seconded to approve changes as presented for Section 7.2 Accounts Receivable D. Return Check Fee Policy. Motion CARRIED Deputy Treasurer – wage: Swiacki moved Paterek seconded to set Deputy Treasurer Jessie Kanehl’s starting wage at $12/hr and at the end of 90 days a wage increase of .75 cents.
