ARMADA TOWNSHIP BOARD REGULAR MEETING MINUTES 23121 East Main Armada, MI 48005 OCTOBER 10, 2012 7:00 p.m. CALL TO ORDER: 7 p.m. by Supervisor Paterek. MEMBERS PRESENT: Smith, Paterek, Lobeck, Ruthenberg and Swiacki MEMBERS ABSENT: None MINUTES: Lobeck moved Ruthenberg seconded to approve regular meeting minutes of September 12, 2012 as presented. Motion CARRIED Smith moved Paterek seconded to approve election meeting minutes of October 10, 2012 as presented. Motion CARRIED SET/AMEND AGENDA: Smith moved Swiacki seconded to amend agenda: Under Approval of Minutes add: October 10, 2012 election meeting. Motion CARRIED CURRENT BILLS: Ruthenberg moved Lobeck seconded, to approve the previously paid bills of $21,931.73 – township checks #22249 thru #22286, fire checks #11886 thru #11910, the payroll checks of $45,835.79 – check #10517, thru #10597 and the current list of bills of $5,779.99, township checks #22287 thru #22296 and fire checks #11911 thru 11921 for a total of $73,547.51 as presented. Ayes: Paterek, Ruthenberg, Lobeck, Smith, Swiacki Motion CARRIED PUBLIC COMMENTS – AGENDA ITEMS: CORRESPONDENCE/INFORMATION: Sidewalk repairs will begin the week of October 15 in the Village. Motion CARRIED UNFINISHED BUSINESS: Robert McMichaels – Alternate building inspector: Paterek moved Swiacki seconded to hire Robert McMichaels as an alternate building inspector. Motion CARRIED NEW BUSINESS: Liquor Control Inspector: Smith moved Paterek seconded to increase the Liquor Control Inspector’s pay from $80.00 a month the $87.30 a month in order to be incompliance with Section 543, Act 58, of the Publics Act of 1998. Ayes: Smith, Paterek, Lobeck, Ruthenberg, Swiacki Motion CARRIED Return check fee: Smith moved Swiacki seconded to add a non-sufficient funds fee of $25.00 to be collected by treasurer for returned checks for tax payments. Smith moved Swiacki seconded to rescind motion. The board discussed establishing a resolution as well as amending policies and procedures to reflect charges for next months meeting. No action. Fire Department – C.D.B.G. additional funds for EMS Facility: Swiacki moved Paterek seconded to accept additional funds of $56,600 in C.D.B.G. funds for the Armada Ambulance Facility. Ayes: Swiacki, Smith, Paterek, Lobeck, Ruthenberg Motion CARRIED Fire Department – 2013 F250: Paterek moved Swiacki seconded to allow Chief Jerzewski to purchase 2013 Ford F250 truck with plow from Huntington Ford as presented. Ayes: Paterek, Smith, Ruthenberg, Lobeck, Swiacki Motion CARRIED Workers Compensation: Michigan Municipal League: Swiacki moved Ruthenberg seconded to allow Clerk Swiacki to switch current workers compensation policy from the Accident Fund to Michigan Municipal League. Clerk Swiacki stated that the township would be saving about $16,000. Ayes: Smith, Paterek, Lobeck, Ruthenberg, Swiacki Motion CARRIED PUBLIC COMMENT: Heard from the floor: Dennis LeMieux, Kathy Stork and Camille Finlay.
