Athens Airport Authority Meeting June 22, 2021 3:00 p.m. Live Stream on ACCGOV YouTube Channel https://youtu.be/Ey-7p2ztZcs Authority: Diane Napier, Chair Les Shindelman, Keith Sanders, Robert Miles, David Asman Airport: Mike Mathews, Airport Director Blaine Williams, ACC Manager Angela Dalton, Airport Business Coordinator A. Chair Update: Mrs. Napier reviewed the agenda for the meeting and noted that the Covid19 Update item has been removed. B. Recognition: Lester Shindelman, Authority Member & Former Chair: Ms. Napier, Mr. Mathews, Mr. Williams and all Authority members expressed their gratitude for Mr. Shindelman’s service and contributions to the Authority. C. Approval May Authority Minutes: Approved as submitted. D. Airport Manager Reports a. Financial & Operations Report: Mr. Mathews reviewed the monthly report as of 5/31/21, including the operations report. b. Capital Improvement Project Updates: Mr. Mathews noted that the projects are progressing as scheduled. c. Marketing & Outreach Activities: Mr. Mathews noted that the local high school Army ROTC Squadron and an U.S. Army Unit utilized the Airport for helicopter rides for the students. He also reported that ACC Leisure Services, in conjunction with the Airport, will once again be hosting a firework display for the community on July 3rd. Mr. Mathews further noted that the Airport underwent the annual FAA inspection over the last week. Staff will receive a report on discrepancies that were found and will work to correct those as soon as possible. d. ClearPoint Data System Update: Mr. Mathews noted that he has sent Ms. Napier and Mr. Sanders an update for their review. Updated changes will be presented at the July meeting. e. COVID-19 Update: Removed from agenda. E. Old Business a. Lexington Hwy & Atlanta Hwy TSPLOST Projects: Ms. Napier reported that the user group continues to work on prioritizing projects to submit to the Mayor & Commission at their August 2nd Work Session.  b. Micro Park Update: The items for the park have been ordered and staff will work to have the area ready for installation upon arrival. . c. AHN as a Destination – Dimensions in Press: Ms. Napier distributed a handout that staff and Authority members can utilize when discussing the Airport with the community. d. AHN Fact Sheet in Press: Ms. Napier distributed a handout that staff and Authority members can utilize when discussing the Airport with the community. F. Standing Committees: Issues & Updates a. Business/Finance: No update at this time. b. Operating: Mr. Asman noted that the UGA Aviation Club will be initiating a new president and that he will be meeting with them in the next month to extend the Airport’s support of their club and meetings. c. Air Service Development/Marketing: Mr. Mathews noted that he is moving forward with this process and he has been advised that there are a few airlines preparing a feasibility study for the Athens area.
