Minutes for ACAC Commissioners Meeting

Motion to Approve Previous Minutes: Andrew Salinas. Second: . Yay: all. None opposed. Motion carries.
Guest report from Mike Wharton: presentation on projects for ACAC to consider waiving art percentages.
Motion to approve to eliminate Project 11, Subprojects 2 and 3 from Public Art funding: Andrew Salinas;
Second: Beatrice Brown. All in favor. None opposed. Motion carries.
Chair’s Report:
Plaques for Art: max $300 per sign, 60 artworks needing sign, totaling $18,000; would be a Capital
expense along with the installation expenses (most likely).
o Motion to move forward to create artwork signs at a max of $300 per sign from the Capital
budget: Beatrice Brown; second: Esra Santesso. All in favor. None opposed. Motion carries.
o Volunteers for subcommittee to work with Stephanie and Tatiana on the signs: Esra, Mickey,
Darcie.
ACAC Holiday Party (No monthly meeting in December)
Motion to nominate Donna Brumby for Secretary: Andrew Salinas; second: Donna Brumby. All in favor.
None opposed. Motion carries.
Treasurer’s Report: No updates.
Project Reports: Clayton (fabrication drawings are being revised this month with a full-scale mock-up done
this month), Cooperative Extension (complete - dedication in January 2022), Dudley Park (Completed,
dedication with building Nov 1), Poet Laureate (events scheduled), Greenway II (site(s) selected, pending
GDoT review), Firefly 2 (user group meeting 11/9), Costa Building (user group met 10/29, next meeting tbd),
Arena (user group meeting Dec 1), Pianos (Bishop Park piano is beyond repair, will be removed; Library piano
needs touch-ups outside and tuning for a total of $300), Origins (ribbon cutting scheduled January 8)
Motion for Stephanie to pursue repairs and tuning on Library piano for $300: Donna Brumby; second:
Madeline Blankenship. All in favor. None opposed. Motion carries.
Arts in Community Awards (AICA):
- Fall 2021 cycle call is ready to be handed off to Tatiana for proof-reading then to Public Information
Office (PIO) for uploading to the county website
- 2020 AICA: Resilience (50 awards): ACAC liaisons with awardees should find photos from the projects
to compile into a sort of annual report. Reach out to the awardees, see if they’ve completed the
report, find photos on your phone/online etc. and upload into the proper Google Drive folder.
Outreach:
- First new team meeting held this week. Subcommittee is Helen, Serena, Montu, and Madeline (chair)
- Starting to read PAMP and revise Outreach possibilities under the new reality of having a full-time
Public Art Coordinator
- Monthly meeting rhythm established: first Wednesday of the month, 6-7:00 PM
Strategy:
- Finished reading PAMP
- Meeting again in December with special guest Marilyn Wolf-Ragatz
Upcoming Events:
- Pop Up Park/School District Family Fun Outing @ SE Clarke Park Nov 13, 9-11am with Poet Laureate
- Dec 4 Poet Laureate reading at Lyndon House - 2PM (in conjunction w/ annual holiday market)

- ACC Arts Summit at LH Jan 29, 2022
