Esra Santesso mentioned follow ups from the March 2023 meeting with regard to questions for
Assistant County Manager Niki Jone regarding funding and job descriptions.
Items Discussed:
1. Chair’s Report (Victoria Prevatt)
● New Member Updates: Interviewing four candidates on Thursday, May 11, 2023.
● Committee will bring recommendations to the commission, which will then vote;
Recommendations will be sent to the mayor and commission for consideration at
our June 2023 meeting.
● Officer Vacancies: Discussion of need to fill executive committee positions.
2. Treasurer’s Report (Darcie St. Onge)
● Tatiana Veneruso reported that the budget was approved; Kaptiv8 website
designers have been notified that their work can go forward as planned; working
on signs for the bus shelters.
● Stephanie Raines reports that it was approved for the ACAC budget to go into the
ACC Leisure Services budget next fiscal year (July 2023). There will be a
meeting about how that process will move forward more efficiently.
● Website, signs for bus shelters
● Helen Kuykendall (ex officio) and Victoria Prevatt will be the contacts for
Kaptiv8.
● $6871 remaining in ACAC budget; discussion of video from ACAC budget.
● All spending in hand by June 30.
3. Leisure Services Staff Report (Tatiana Veneruso)
● BAC Training and orientation materials update
○ Accgov.com email addresses secured for ACAC.
○ Discussion of all training videos

■ Open Meetings
■ Open Records
■ Parliamentary Procedure
■ Ethics and Conflict of Interest
■ 90 days to complete training
● Form to enroll in BAC training videos (this week)
2. Project Reports (Tatiana Veneroso)
● Arena Selection Panels
○ Record number of applicants for the Classic City Arena (109 fir site 1; 97
for site 2; and 122 for site 3).
○ After initial screening, applicants have been narrowed down to the
finalists.
○ Review of finalists May 24th; then to mayor and commission for approval.
○ Large project of the three will need a work session presentation to the
mayor and commission.
● Recap of Poetry Month events
● Greenway/Firefly
○ Working on contracts for artists
○ Greenway: one of the artists is expecting her first child. Will postpone
until next spring to accommodate.
○ Smaller mural on track to be done this summer
○ Two firefly sculptures later in the year depending on contracts
● Fire Station #5 Presentation
○ SPLOST 2020 #6
○ Replacement for current station at 1090 Whit Davis Road, which will be
new construction
○ Discussion of options for vintage fire truck (Ford F850) at the current
station, which is not in use. User group is all firefighters and central
services
■ Auctton; use parts for future public art; interactive educational
project; bus shelter; deconstructed truck
3. Outreach Committee Report (Madeline Blankenship)
● Discussion of supporting April Poetry Month events
● Discussion of opening of Firefly Trail
● Discussion of outreach ideas, including Picnics in the Parks, public tour of bus
shelters;
● Discussion of tabling and materials at events this summer (PRIDE, AthFest)
○ Name tags for new members; other branded merch such as T-shirts
○ New round of Music Walk of Fame inductees will be announced at
AthFest (Montu Miller) in June.
○ Chair Victoria Prevatt approved spending for outreach materials, T-shirts
and other materials.
● Stephanie Raines will arrange the tuning of the pianos at the ACC Library and the
Council on Aging.
Other Updates: Jan Bush reports that the Arts Council will be taking possession of the College
Street Decks Art Deco project

March 2023 meeting minutes. They were approved unanimously.
