Next meeting – September 27th meeting will be in-person (maybe) 3. Major Discussion (7:00) a. Upcoming Events ▪ UGA Bike/PED Day, Thursday, September 8th 10am – 2pm ▪ PorchFest – Sunday, October 2nd – more details to come – talking Prince Ave & General Bike/Ped – good opportunity for outreach ▪ Education & Communications Committee looking into future tabling events b.Prince Avenue Pilot Project ▪ Toole is putting together communications plan, AiMC will have action items – optional supplemental materials schedule (AiMC responsible for content) i. Tabling ▪ AiMC will send letter to M&C after pilot c. AiMC Materials – Education & Communications Committee - Teresa met with Scott to discuss AiM role in the ACC Bike/Ped realm. Not visible, but do have an advisory and communication role. Option to develop landing page with important information about bicycle routes, transportation options. d.Safe Route to School – engagement with CCSD – status update on this? 4. Staff Updates (35:30) a. Bike, Pedestrian and Safety Coordinator - Daniel Sizemore ▪ RAISE for North Avenue accepted, full amount of $25 million. 4th time’s a charm. Great job Stephen & Daniel! ▪ Conference takeaways + TSPLOST i. Bicycle counter systems, bike lane buffers, trail markers. These items could have additional environmental benefits. ▪ Vision Zero Coordinator position update – hired Shirelle Hallum ▪ Other updates b.Transportation and Public Works Director – Stephen Bailey (42:05) ▪ TSPLOST Funding and AiMC i. Review of 6 funding buckets, totaling $23.4 Million (AiMC directly involved) ii. SPLOST 2011 Bikes, SPLOST 2011 Pedestrian, TSPLOST 2018 Bikes, TSPLOST 2018 Pedestrian, TSPLOST 2023 Bike/Ped, General Capital Sidewalks iii. Indirectly involved with 18 funding buckets, totaling 72.9 Million (could involve Bike/Ped impact ▪ Other items c. Park Planning – Todd Miller (1:47:20) ▪ Firefly Bridge project at Dudley Park is coming along, deck being placed on park side. Starting to erect the vertical arch on Poplar St. Timber section in late August/early September ▪ Opened the midwalk crossing on the Firefly Trail that provides additional parking at the Streets & Drainage facility (approx. 48 spaces) ▪ Greenway Trail in cemetery beginning to grade the trail segment. Estimated completion November 2022 ▪ Firefly phase 3 working on final plans ▪ Carr’s Creek Greenway section beginning to work on final plans 5. Committee Reportback (1:52:34) a. Corridor Committees ▪ Atlanta Highway – user Group’s open house happening today ▪ Lexington Road – plans have been sent to M&C ▪ Prince Avenue – Pilot project status b.AiMC Committees ▪ Grants and Data i. Grants a. Bicycle Friendly City – move from Bronze to Silver (due 09/15) b.Safe Streets for All Grant – action planning grant – in progress (Daniel) c. Reconnecting Communities Pilot Program – in progress, due in October (Daniel) ii. Data Projects a. AiM dataset work b.AiM prioritization criteria update ▪ Policy and Projects i. TSPLOST funds a. Future discussion about ordinance revisions and crosswalk policies ▪ Education and Communications i. Active Projects now linked to AiMC page ii. Looking at materials for brochures and website iii. Events c. Other committees/commissions ▪ UGA i. Park & Ride expansion complete (backs up to Greenway) ii. Bike share program close to choosing vendor iii. Improving cross walk at Sanford Dr/Carlton ▪ Greenway i. Working with staff to develop some type of “open house” celebration for the new cemetery section of the Greenway ii. Planning several tabling events for this fall iii. Have three vacancies on the commission. Voted to spend up to $500 to advertise for applicants iv.
