Art moved to accept the agenda; Randy seconded. The agenda was approved unanimously. Minutes Lauren shared the previous meeting minutes and entertained a motion to accept. The minutes were approved unanimously Minutes Major Items (5:40) Cherokee Road (Tier 1, TSPLOST 2018) Scott Athey, ARCADIS • Presentation - history and funding strategies • Questions • Info: Cherokee Road project • TPW recommending AiM funding for Segment #2 • Vote on at September meeting Vincent Drive (Tier 1, SPLOST 2020) Daniel Sizemore, Bike, Pedestrian and Safety Coordinator • Info: Vincent Drive Sidewalk - SPLOST 2020 - Project 31 • Need assistance from AiM funding to complete project • Interested in seeking other avenues of support from other projects pool • Lauren entertained a motion to table the vote on the Vincent Drive project. Teresa motioned to accept the motion; Ed seconded. The motion was approved unanimously. Minor Notes (1:16:37) Letter: West Broad Street/Atlanta Highway GDOT/ACCGov safety improvements collaboration • Letter of support from AiMC requested, due mid-October • Teresa will draft a letter of support with assistance from Ed • Will be reviewed at September meeting • Info: AiMC’s submitted project - Atlanta Highway/West Broad - TSPLOST 2023 - Project 4 TSPLOST 2026 Daniel Sizemore, Bike, Pedestrian and Safety Coordinator Lauren Blais, Chair • Will meet on September 11 at 4:00 pm • Will have list of projects to discuss with AiM Commission at September meeting 2 Staff Updates (1:29:45) Park Planning Todd Miller, Park Planning Coordinator • Firefly Traill Expansion Phase III – Segments 1, 2, 3, are out to bid. Bids received on August 6. SPLOST working on acquiring remaining easements in Segment 3. Goal is to issue Notice to Proceed and begin construction in October • Greenway Trail Expansion Oak/Oconee St Trail – Preliminary survey and utility coordination. Expected completion is 2028 • Greenway Trail repaving – construction stage, waiting on contracts to be signed. Projected completion by January 2025 Transportation and Public Works Daniel Sizemore, Bike, Pedestrian and Safety Coordinator Katie Goodrum, Vision Zero Coordinator • Grant updates o Had kickoff meeting with Safety Action Plan o Moving forward on Hawthorne/Alps grant • Presented on traffic calming at Ga Bikes webinar • Working on presentation for Athens in Motion Plan update Committee/Org Reportback (1:43:20) Corridor Committees • Atlanta Highway - Teresa Friedlander – no updates • Lexington Road - Randy Halstead – TSPLOST 2018 southside sidewalk plans are complete, TSPLOST • Prince Avenue - Lauren Blais – no updates AiMC Committees • Education and Communication – Chair: Julie Jaeger o Tabling event at Whit Davis Family Event on Saturday, July 27.
