Box 1868 ∙ Athens, Georgia 30603 (706) 613-3015 ∙ Fax (706) 613-3029 www.accgov.com  ● Walk of Recognition: ▪ Commissioner Hamby stated that $50k was asked by M&C for Walk of Recognition ▪ M&C will vote on the 1st Tuesday of June ● Minimum Wage Increase for ACC employees ▪ The comment was made majority of the current employees are already at $15 and the recommendation ● ACC Black History Center ▪ Ms. Hattie has asked for space in the Costa building, as the building is empty ▪ Commissioner Hamby suggested sending an email to the committee about programming in the building and the concept/idea for the space. He suggested sending also to M&C and Manager Williams, and before the 8th ▪ Commissioner Hamby mentioned that the Downtown Development Authority may have grant funding ● Vote on Walk of Recognition: Motion to vote by Dr. Jenn Rice ○ Unanimous yes vote ○ All voting members, 6, voting yes ● Walk of Recognition Project Design Details by Dr. Jenn Rice ▪ Dr. Bustle spoke in the last meeting of the mosaic detail ▪ The mosaic would be community generated ▪ The Project Leaders will be Dr. Rice, Dr. Bustle, with a 3rd TBA ▪ They’re implementing 5 classes at UGA (Freshman, Odessey) to support this project ▪ Including the community in the project to build from the steps of the history through to the mosaic building ▪ This project will be integrated into classes in local elementary school to get kids helping with this project as well ▪ Ms. Hattie mentioned a concern for safety and the opportunity to partner with Ebenezer West Baptist as a site for drop-off. She has spoken with Rev. Bloodsaw about this as well ▪ Dr. Jenn Rice mentioned the need for a paid Project Manager. This person will be paid a living wage for about 5hrs a week for the duration of the project.
