ACCGov Minimum Wage increase to $15 hour: o Hattie Thomas Whitehead asks if a press release has gone out to highlight this positive step and the people that helped make it possible o Manager Williams states no official press release has gone out, but it has been put in the paper and that Mayor & Commission ultimately made final decision in implementing the wage increase o Hattie Thomas Whitehead states that the increase will impact people in a positive way and thank yous ought to go out to all involved, but moves to table it o Charlene Marsh asks how would they move forward with drafting a press release and says she will look into it o Manager Williams states that HR is looking at compression of existing staff pay, but implementation of pay increase to start in July E. Dr. Jenn Rice update on Walk of Recognition o Dr. Rice gave an overview of the 4 points of the walk of recognition o Concept has been developed and is now in the implementation phase o Concept is multi sided, multi point with artistic and historical markers o Location set for South of Baxter, near corners of Finley and Cloverhurst o The project will have 2 componente and 2 stages i.Three historical info signs that capture history, culture, images, text, and has some interactive technology ii.Artistic public art piece that is a community generated mosaic with Dr. Lynn Bustle as the art professor leading the project from start to finish o Through the ACCGov RFP process they are seeking a professional design firm to produce interpretive graphic designs from concept, through the build, to the installation o There will be a significant community input component o Dr. Rice to be the liaison between ACCGov and UGA and AJMP team o ACCGov Inclusion Fellow to be hired to work specifically on public art piece o Dr. Bustle has identified the supplies that need to be used to specifically for this art piece and can be purchased ahead of FY21 end o Working to get a site visit set with ACCGov TPW to identify location for Walk of Recognition o Hattie Thomas Whitehead thanks Dr. Rice for keeping project moving forward o Approximately a year for installation o UGA students and community to be included in installation next summer (2022) o Students will help to vision idea F.
