Athens-Clarke County Board of Elections Election Certification Minutes November 9, 2018— AMENDED 12/ 04/ 18 A meeting of the Athens- Clarke County Board of Elections to begin Certification of the 2018 General Election was held on Friday, November 9, 2018 at the Facilities/ Landscape Management Building, 2555 Lexington Rd., Athens, Georgia. A. Call To Order The meeting was called to order at 5: 00 p.m. by Charles Knapper, Chairman. Other Members Present: Michele Simpson, Vice Chairperson; Jesse Evans, Board Member Others Present: Charlotte Sosebee, Director; Bill Berryman, ACC Attorney, John Hawkins, ACC Assistant Attorney; Wanda Raley, Recording Clerk B. Welcome Guests Several guests in attendance (see attached list). C. Status of Provisional Ballots 1. Charlotte stated that 43 ballots should be counted; 41 out of precinct; however, 2 others had not provided IDs. 2. Mr. Berryman suggested that since we were losing quorum at 5: 30 pm, decisions should be made regarding the 43 ballots: Michele Simpson made motion to accept; Jesse Evans seconded motion; approved unanimously. 3. Mr. Berryman clarified that voters should have until 7:00 pm tonight( November 9) to provide substantiating documents. Pending litigation, staff should continue to process provisional ballots through Monday, November 12, at 4: 30 pm. Staff should separate any documentation brought in by provisional voters after 7: 00 pm on November 9 to approve/ disapprove based on law. D. Announcements Continuation of Certification to begin at 4: 30 p. m., Monday, November 12 at Facilities/ Landscape Management Building, 2555 Lexington Rd. E.
