The special called meeting of the Athens-Clarke County Board of Elections was held on Wednesday, July
15, 2020, virtually via YouTube. (https://youtu.be/QTUJMWJ7sS8)
Jesse Evans, Chairperson, called the meeting to order at 1:01pm.
Board Members present: Charles Knapper, Vice Chairperson; Patricia Till, Board Member; Willa
Fambrough, Secretary; Rocky Raffle, Board Member.
Board Members absent: NONE
Others Present: Charlotte Sosebee, Director; Judd Drake, ACCUG Attorney; Aletha Perkins, Recording
Clerk; Pamela Long, Elections Assistant; Lisa McGlaun, Elections Assistant
A. Adopt Agenda
Motion made by Ms. Fambrough to adopt the agenda. Motion was 2nd by Mr. Knapper. Motion
passed unanimously.

Motion made by Ms. Fambrough to call a special election for Athens Clarke County Commission District
6 seat to fill the unexpired term of Commissioner Jerry NeSmith (deceased). Motion was seconded by r.
Knapper. Motion passed unanimously.

Motion made by Mr. Knapper to call for the qualification window of said election to begin on August 3,
2020 at 9am and end on August 5, 2020 at 12 noon. Motion seconded by Ms. Fambrough. Motion
passed unanimously.

On July 15, 2020 at 1:00 pm, the Athens-Clarke County Board of Elections & Voter Registration
will conduct a special called meeting to call a special election to fill the balance of the unexpired
term of office for District 6 commissioner, Jerry NeSmith (deceased).
Inquires may be directed to the Board of Elections Office, 155 E. Washington Street, Athens,
Georgia, 30601 or by calling 706-613-3150.
Due to COVID-19 citizens wishing to address the Board of Elections may submit written
comments to the Board Members prior to the start of the meeting.
