Human Relations Committee Meeting Minutes Wednesday, May 24, 2023 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM City Hall 301B ACCGov Staff in Attendance: 1. Dr. Remy Epps – Inclusion Officer 2. Box 1868 ∙ Athens, Georgia 30603 (706) 613-3015 ∙ Email: inclusionoffice@accgov.com www.accgov.com Minutes • Meeting called to order at 6:03 P.M. • Committee chair Cameron Harrelson provided the group with updates on upcoming Juneteenth & Pride events. • Dr. Epps provided updates on the HRC promotional “swag” materials for the upcoming events. • The group discussed and voted to approve design for HRC promotional “swag” materials that included the pride banner, fans, and informational pamphlets. • The committee voted to give the chair final approval for promotional materials after they had been updated to meet the recommended standards. • Dr. Epps shared an update on the budget and expenditures for each planned event. • The committee discussed making revisions to the by-laws. They then voted to amend the by-laws to say that the vice chair may continue as chair or make the decision not to remain as chair. • The committee voted to elect Ke’Marcis Howard as vice chair. • Each subcommittee provided an update on what they have been discussing as well as their plans of action moving forward. • The committee discussed ideas on how to spend remaining event budget funds that cannot be carried over to next year’s budget.
