Penalty to close current CD’s $8.68. Nathan suggested Climate First Bank which have a savings account that would earn 2.75% interest. There are two CD promotions available at CFB: 9 Month CD 4.69% and a 25 Month CD at 4.01%. Checked with our current bank – Synovus as well, and they also have a promo of a 5 Month CD at 4.75% and a 13 Month CD at 4.5%. o Climate First Bank: a climate focused bank that aligns with the board, but is not local. o Synovus is our current bank and interest from the board to keep accounts at Synovus for ease of access to funds and it is local o Suggestion to move funds into a higher interest account for a short time in order to learn more about where the funds are being invested. To decide if we stay with Synovus or move to another institution at the retreat. ● Motion to approve moving $25k into a promo CD at Synovus for 5 months at 4.75% interest while we discuss other accounts to earn more o Motion – Joe o Second – Nathan o All in favor – Yes o Any opposed – No Executive Director’s Report (Stacee) Updates: • Cover your load week June 5-11th • Love Where you Live yard signs • Athens Transit Bus wrap is up and running its route • Litter Cards: business cards with links to litter reporting • Litter Index: o Present board members chose sites to help with the litter index that runs from June through the end of July o Asking each member to do 1 to 2 sites. Walk 100 meters (3 ft) and track that space. Pick up and bag and take with or leave and notify them so it can be picked up.
