KACCB Board Meeting Notes
- Introductions and new member welcome
o Joe C. – new MBA fellow
- First item is to approve October & November (Board Retreat) Minutes
o Motion to approve James A.

o Moved to new higher rate CD
o Checking slightly lower than normal but not an issue
o Green life award come from sponsorship donors before being distributed by
KACCB
o Big expenses were River’s Alive - another passthrough
o 2 successful plantings for bulbs reflected as well.

o 26 new members and $1,680 GA Gives fundraiser
o Ramp planting done on Tallassee
20K bulbs planted w 62 volunteers
o Revenue & expenditures context: just for Nov & Dec so that is why it doesn’t
exactly match Joe’s reporting (due to time delays)
o Second Kingery Foundation donation for $500 not reflected on revenue
o Thank you to Dave and Nathan for helping at the chipper site over the weekend.
Trees can be brought until mid-January (insert options here).
Getting more trees and will be doing GA Arbor day on Feb. 16th w
partnership w community tree council at Athentic Brewing (trees + beer).
o Stacy requesting green life funds earlier this year for 3 awards. Request to
approve up to $600 award

- Jackie & Stacy idea to postpone committee reports (due to holiday break) and until after
we have the opportunity to reconvene with groups.
o Need to establish a chair for the committee.
- Events
o Special focus on St. Patty’s day and who will spearhead that committee
- Outreach & PR
o Angela is chair.
- Doing upcoming events and then committee breakouts
o MLK Day of Service, January 15
25 sites, 85 slots are full. Go online ASAP to sign-up (Fri. deadline if you
want to participate). Walk up registration may be allowed, but site
selection is unlikely if you choose this option.
Examples: invasive species removal, beautification, land trust, acceptance
recovery, JJ Harris & Barrow schools, humane society, animal services,
etc.
All projects 10AM – noon.
o Stonehenge Neighborhood Cleanup, January 20
5th neighborhood cleanup – residents at no cost allowed to dispose of
tires, furniture, scrap metal, bulky items, etc.
Pockets of litter within the neighborhood cleaned up as well
8AM – noon
Also in Creekside Manor
o GA Arbor Day, February 16
o Litter Abatement Steering Committee, February 16

o Green Life Award and Art Submission Deadline, March 1
Theme is climate champions for art in various media
o St. Paddy’s Day Event, March 17
Day reserved with Terrapin. Additional information forthcoming
o Tire Round Up Event, March 26 to April 1
Can bring up to 6 tires to the landfill or CHARM with no charge
o Green Life Awards, April 24
Located at Botanical Gardens. Attendance is encouraged.

o Trying to schedule litter cleanup. Doodle poll will be sent out after MLK Day
We hit our goal of 4 litter cleanups for 2023 as the board

o Lauren staying on as a fellow, Adam starting now as a fellow, and another MBA fellow
coming soon.

o BBotM - follow up items
Gather resources to go in the BBotM winner welcome packets, and we will ask
members to share the link monthly
Criteria for Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Needed & Inaugural Class
Be a winner during the year (or nominated multiple times)
Be a member
Look at longer term incentives
Sponsor them or host an awareness event somehow
Award given out at Green Life Business Award
Can we reward winners with packages for event tickets?
Something better than information
Win twice within a five-year period and nominated for BBotM at least
once annually.
Award is a recycled version of a metal daffodil statue/yard art
(our bulldog) plus tickets?
Discuss current 3-year rule with larger group
Lauren will be creating guidelines for this and a nice plaque by EOM
Deadline for each month will be first Wednesday of the first week of each
month. We will send out the link before monthly meetings and remind
members to vote during the meeting.
Can we give the BBotM winners a social media template to share,
marketing kit, more board members delivering award, ensuring the
owner is present, Flagpole ads etc. to make winners stickier.

Follow up on what kind of analytics do we have over our social media
views
Can the PR committee provide details
Do we have fundraising target for new business memberships?
Focus of February meeting is how to make goals smarter.
START SENDING the business letter.
Events Committee Updates
o Discussed getting the ball rolling on planning the St. Paddy's Day Fundraiser at Terrapin.
Brainstormed some ideas and action items for the event this year and highlighted what
went well last year.
o Setting another meeting before the next board meeting with updates.
The Outreach Committee updates are as follows:
o Update Live Where You Live Grant outreach materials – flyers, social media posts
o Once updated, distribute around town – library
o Approved River Oaks Neighborhood LWYL Grant – Jackie emailed them
o Courtney will set a meeting with Stacy about creating content for social media
o Committee discussed idea of encouraging community to use Marine Debris Tracker app
during month of April – more to come on this idea
o Committee discussed how to reach Latin community, maybe tabling at LatinX or another
event
