Dougherty Street Members Present: Chris Gazlay, Julianne Geddis, Chris Joiner, Tamaine Jordan, Mike Lord, Joseph Powell, Johnelle Simpson Staff Present: Bruce Lonnee, John Rogeberg, Joanne DeJausserand, Amber Eskew(Planning), Austin Jackson (ACC Attorney ) GENERAL BUSINESS 1. Determination of quorum– all members present 2. Introduction of staff reports and all other documents submitted to the Hearings Board at this meeting into the official record. Motion to approve by C. Gazlay, seconded by J. Simpson. Motion passed unanimously. 3. Adoption of the minutes of the December 13, 2023 meeting Motion to approve by J. Geddis, seconded by T. Jordan. Motion passed unanimously. NEW BUSINESS 1. 171 East Broad Street VAR-2023-12-2342 Petitioner: Ricky Vaughn, Trustee of the Vaughn Family Trust Zoning: C-D (Commercial-Downtown) Tax ID: 171B5 B007B Request: A. Variance to allow a wall sign more than 12 inches from the wall. (Sec. 7-3) Amber Eskew presented the staff report. Finding the application did not meet criterias 2, 4, and 5, staff recommended denial. Ben Carly spoke in favor of the application. None spoke against. Motion mad by J Simpson to deny based on the application not meeting all seven criteria. J. Powell seconded. Motion passed 6-1 (T. Jordan dissenting) OTHER BUSINESS 1. Planning Director's Report 2.
