3. Warden Ray Covington and Deputy Warden Charles Mason gave an overview of the
Department of Corrections and the complaint process. ____________________________
4. Daniel Young gave an overview of the Diversion/Transition Center._________________
5. Josh Edwards reminded the Board that the August 3, 2022 meeting is with the District
Attorney and encouraged the Board to think about potential dates to do a tour of the jail, a
tour of the Diversion/Transition Center and the Corrections Department, and to schedule
their first meeting with the National Association for Civilian Oversight of Law
Enforcement (NACOLE). __________________________________________________
6. Sherrie Hines told the Board that the COVID-19 emergency ordinance terminates on
August 3, 2022 at 11:59 p.m., and the Board can hold virtual meetings until then. ______
7. Josh Edwards discussed NACOLE’s availability to hold a meeting with the Board._____
8. Commissioner Davenport suggested doing a tour of the jail and the Corrections
Department before meeting with NACOLE.____________________________________
9. Josh Edwards will reach out to the Sheriff to schedule a Board tour of the jail and the
Corrections Department on August 10, 2022. ___________________________________
10. Josh announced the meeting with NACOLE will be virtual and if the Board meets in
person, the meeting will be through a large screen or the meeting may also be held
through Webex.___________________________________________________________
