BANGOR BOROUGH COUNCIL MEETING HELD AT 197 PENNSYLVANIA AVENUE, BANGOR, PA MINUTES March 13, 2017 7:00PM CALL TO ORDER AND PLEDGE TO FLAG Mayor Capozzolo did the swearing in of new Junior Council Person Sascha Gutierrez. ROLL CALL Members Present: Michael J. Bilotta Robert Goffredo, Sr. Jane E. Gorman James W. Kresge Robert J. Rhodes, Jr. Barry G. Schweitzer Others Present: Joseph H. Capozzolo, Mayor Nathaniel J. Dysard, Borough Manager David J. Ceraul, Esq., Solicitor Sascha Gutierrez, Junior Council Member Absent: Bonnie J. LaBar Robert W. Engle Brian Gembarski, Junior Council Member (arrived at 7:25 p.m.) ACTION ITEMS 1. Borough Engineer Jeff Ott was present to conduct the required annual public outreach presentation regarding the Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System permit requirements. 2. The director of the Slate Belt Rising program (Stephen Reider) introduced himself to Borough Council and discussed the program. 3. A MOTION was made by Goffredo, second by Rhodes to appoint Tiffany Kresge to the Zoning Hearing Board, with a term to expire on 12/31/19. All were in favor. MOTION carried. 4. A MOTION to authorize advertisement of Ordinance #970 (Bangor Borough Wireless Communications Facilities Ordinance) to amend the Zoning Code was made by Schweitzer, seconded by Bilotta. All were in favor, MOTION carried. 5. A MOTION to authorize advertisement of Ordinance # 971 (Medical Marijuana Performance Standards and Use Regulations Ordinance) to amend the Zoning Code was made by Gorman, seconded by Rhodes. All were in favor, MOTION carried. COUNCIL COMMENTS 1. Rhodes commented that Liberty Fire Hall will be open if anyone needs to go there during the upcoming snow storm. 2. Solicitor Ceraul welcomed Junior Council Person Sascha Gutierrez to Borough Council and complimented Junior Council Person Brian Gembarski on the recent article in the newspaper indicating that he was first in his class. 3. Manager Dysard stated that the staff is ready for the upcoming snow storm. 4. Council President Kresge also welcomed Sascha to the Board and congratulated Brian. 5. Mayor Capozzolo indicated that he is not running for reelection but congratulated the candidates. ADJOURNMENT A MOTION to adjourn was made by Bilotta, seconded by Rhodes. All were in favor.
