MEMBERS PRESENT: Commissioners Judith Mudge, Gary Green and Tim Martinovich MEMBERS ABSENT: None STAFF PRESENT: Vicki Houser, Susan Bedsole, Nancy Mullett, Chief Schmaltz CALL TO ORDER: President Mudge called the meeting to order at 4:03 PM and recognized that a quorum was present. OATH OF OFFICE: City Clerk, Vick Houser, administered the Oath of Office to new Civil Service Commissioner, Tim Martinovich. APPROVAL OF MINUTES A motion was made by Comm. Green, supported by Comm. Martinovich, to approve the Civil Service Commission June 23, 2014 meeting minutes, as amended, with a correction to the date. All yes, none opposed. Motion approved. PETITIONS AND COMMUNICATIONS: There were none. REPORTS: There were none. UNFINISHED BUSINESS There was no unfinished business. NEW BUSINESS 1. Certify the “2014 Entry Level Fire Fighter Eligibility List” A motion was made by Comm. Green, supported by Comm. Martinovich, to certify the “2014 Entry Level Fire Fighter Eligibility List.” All yes, none opposed. Motion approved. 2. Certify the first 5 candidates on the “2014 Entry Level Fire Fighter Eligibility List.” A motion was made by Comm. Green, supported by Comm. Martinovich, to certify the first five candidates on the “2014 Entry Level Fire Fighter Eligibility List.” All yes, none opposed. Motion approved. PUBLIC COMMENTS There were no public comments. COMMISSION COMMENTS Comm. Green noted his term on the Civil Service Commission would expire in December 2014, stating he did not intend to renew his term, stating he has informed the Union and they would be seeking a replacement. Comm. Mudge thanked Comm. Green for his service to the Commission, stating she enjoyed working with him and was sorry that he would not be renewing his term. ADJOURNMENT: President Mudge adjourned the meeting at 4: 06 PM. 1
