DANGEROUS BUILDINGS HEARING MINUTES September 10, 2014 1:00 P.M. CITY HALL 10 N. DIVISION STREET COMMISSION CHAMBERS 3RD FLOOR – ROOM 301 BATTLE CREEK MI 49014 1. Call to Order: 1:00pm 2. Roll Call: Carman Hamilton 3. Staff Members Present: Dennis McKinley, Code Compliance Administrator; Don Wilkinson, Building Inspector; Lisa Silkworth, Secretary 4. Additions/Deletions to the Agenda: none 5. Approval of Minutes: Mr. Hamilton approved the minutes from the August 14th, 2014 meeting. 6. New Business: a. 246 Kendall Issue#EN14-22896 Building Inspector: Don Wilkinson Property Owner, not present. Dennis McKinley, Code Compliance Administrator, reported the house has been vacant for over 180 days, lacks water service, and has unsanitary conditions. Mr. Hamilton affirmed it as a dangerous building and granted thirty days to bring it into compliance. b. 145 Newtown (Commercial) Issue#EN14-22758 Building Inspector: Don Wilkinson Property Owner, not present. Don Wilkinson, Building Inspector, reported the building has been vacant, lacks property maintenance, and lacks utilities. Mr. Wilkinson recommends Dangerous Buildings Hearing July 9, 2014 Page 2 of 2 granting thirty days to bring it into compliance. Mr. Hamilton affirmed it as a dangerous building and granted thirty days to bring it into compliance. c. 209 Parkway (Garage) Issue#EN14-21805 Building Inspector: Don Wilkinson Property Owner, not present. Don Wilkinson, Building Inspector, reported the garage suffers from lack of maintenance. Mr. Wilkinson recommends granting thirty days to bring it into compliance. Mr. Hamilton affirmed it as a dangerous building and granted thirty days to bring it into compliance. 7. Public Comments: 8. Board and Staff Members Comments: 9.
