Roll Call: Carman Hamilton 3. Staff Members Present: Dennis McKinley, Neighborhood Asset Manager; Ted Hanson, Chief Building Official; Lisa Silkworth, Secretary 4. Additions/Deletions to the Agenda: Remove 43 N Union, 513 Capital Ave NE, and 114 North Ave 5. Approval of Minutes: Mr. Hamilton made a motion to approve the minutes from the February 10, 2016 meeting. Approved 6. New Business: a. 272 Beachfield (House) Issue#EN16-00452 Building Inspector: Don Wilkinson Property owner, not present. Don Wilkinson, Building Inspector, stated the property has been vacant for over 180 days, lacks utilities, and lacks maintenance. Mr. Wilkinson recommended affirming it as a Dangerous Building. Mr. Hamilton affirmed the property as a Dangerous Building and granted thirty days to bring it into compliance. b. 162 Calhoun St (House) Issue#EN16-00435 Building Inspector: Don Wilkinson Property owner, Jerry Vander Roest, present. Don Wilkinson, Building Inspector, stated the house has been vacant for over 180 days, lacks utilities and lacks property maintenance. Mr. Wilkinson recommended Dangerous Buildings Hearing March 9, 2016 Page 2 of 3 affirming the house as a Dangerous Building. Mr. Vander Roest stated the home has been stripped of plumbing and electrical wiring. Mr. Vander Roest has fixed the roof. Mr. Vander Roest noted he is trying to repair the home but is facing financial difficulty. Mr. Vander Roest requested a monitoring history on the property. Mr. Vander Roest requested fair treatment and noted some other properties on his street. Mr. Hamilton stated a safety inspection would be required. Mr. Wilkinson stated he would do the inspection today. Mr. Hamilton affirmed the property as a Dangerous Building and granted thirty days to bring it into compliance. c. 513 Capital Ave NE (House) Issue#EN16-00437 Building Inspector: Don Wilkinson REMOVED d. 17 Groveland (House) Issue#EN16-00434 Building Inspector: Don Wilkinson Property owner, not present. Don Wilkinson, Building Inspector, stated the property has been vacant for over 180 days, lacks utilities, and lacks maintenance. Mr. Wilkinson recommended affirming it as a Dangerous Building. Mr. Hamilton affirmed the property as a Dangerous Building and granted thirty days to bring it into compliance. e. 114 North Ave (House) Issue#EN16-00438 Building Inspector: Don Wilkinson REMOVED f. 46 Oak St (House) Issue#EN16-00432 Building Inspector: Don Wilkinson Property owner, not present. Don Wilkinson, Building Inspector, stated the property has been vacant for over 180 days, lacks utilities, and lacks maintenance. Mr. Wilkinson recommended affirming it as a Dangerous Building.
