DANGEROUS BUILDINGS HEARING MINUTES June13, 2018 1:00 P.M. CITY HALL 10 N. DIVISION STREET COMMISSION CHAMBERS 3RD FLOOR – ROOM 301 BATTLE CREEK MI 49014 1. Call to Order: 1:02pm 2. Roll Call: Carman Hamilton 3. Staff Members Present: Richard Bolek, Chief Building Official; Don Wilkinson, Building Official; Lisa Silkworth, Secretary 4. Additions/Deletions to the Agenda: none 5. Approval of Minutes: Mr. Hamilton approved the minutes from the May 9, 2018 meeting. Approved. 6. New Business: a. 155 W Fountain (House) Issue#EN18-05885 Building Inspector: Don Wilkinson Property owner, not present. Don Wilkinson, Building Official, stated the house is vacant, lacks utilities, and lacks property maintenance. Mr. Wilkinson recommended affirming the property as a Dangerous Building. Mr. Hamilton affirmed the property as a Dangerous Building. Affirmed. b. 109 Nelson (House) Issue#EN18-05886 Building Inspector: Don Wilkinson Property owner, Ja’mya Lacey for Geraldine Williams, present. Don Wilkinson, Building Official, stated the house has been vacant and lacks repairs. Mr. Wilkinson recommended affirming the property as a Dangerous Building. Ms. Lacey stated Geraldine has an action plan and that most work has been done. Ms. Lacey stated the roof was not done. Mr. Hamilton affirmed the property as a Dangerous Building and granted thirty days to bring it into compliance. Affirmed. c. 57 South Ave (House) Issue#EN18-06314 Building Inspector: Don Wilkinson Property owner, not present. Don Wilkinson, Building Official, stated the house is vacant, lacks utilities, and lacks property maintenance. Mr. Wilkinson recommended affirming the property as a Dangerous Building. Mr. Hamilton affirmed the property as a Dangerous Building. Affirmed. 7. Public Comments: none 8. Board and Staff Members Comments: none 9.
