City of Battle Creek Election Commission Meeting 10 N. Division Street – Room 111 Battle Creek, MI February 16, 2016 11:00 AM Present: Jill Steele, Steve Hudson and Vicki Houser Absent: None Call to Order: The meeting was called to order at 11:05 A.M. Approval of Minutes: Clerk Houser noted the first order of business was the approval of the January 5, 2016 meeting minutes. A motion was made by Steve Hudson, supported by Jill Steele, to approve the January 5, 2016 Election Commission meeting minutes. All yes, none opposed. Motion carried. Relocation of Polling Locations: Clerk Houser informed the Commission that, in addition to the polling relocations discussed at the January 5, 2016 Election Commission meeting, one additional polling location would be moving. Clerk Houser stated Battle Creek First Assembly of God, located at 800 S. 24th Street, would now be hosting Precincts 22 & 23, which were previously located at the Prairieview Elementary School. Clerk Houser noted new voter ID cards were sent to all registered voters in Precincts 22 & 23, as were the new voter ID cards for the previously approved relocations, noting they were received by voters on February 8, 2016, meeting the 30 day notice requirement. A motion was made by Jill Steele, supported by Steve Hudson, to approve the relocation of Precincts 22 & 23 to Battle Creek First Assembly of God, located at 800 S. 24th Street. All yes, none opposed. Motion approved. Appointment of Election Inspectors to the March 8, 2016 Election Clerk Houser presented the list of election inspectors, by precinct, for the March 8, 2016 Presidential Primary Election. Clerk Houser noted the precincts all have one Republican and one Democrat, noting they were balanced as best as could be given the locations. A motion was made by Steve Hudson, supported by Jill Steele, to approve the precinct inspectors as presented. All yes, none opposed. Motion approved. Public Comments: There were no public comments. Commission Comments: Clerk Houser presented samples of the Republican and Democratic ballots to the Election Commission members. Adjournment: The meeting was adjourned at 11:10 AM. 1
