This information provides identification of the specific areas of the lake that require spot treatment and is sent to PLM Lake and Land Management, our plant control contractor. Groves also provided copies of the Spring 2015 issue of Goguac Lake Board Newsletter. The newsletter provided some of the most frequently asked questions and answers about how the program is coordinated. The first lake treatment was on May 26, 2015. This is the third year of a five-year improvement project on Goguac Lake being implemented under the direction of the Goguac Lake Board. The project includes information dissemination and education, annual water quality monitoring, and the control of nuisance aquatic plants being a primary component of the improvement project. The primary goal is to control the spread of invasive plants in the lake while preserving plants which are beneficial to the lake and fishery. Groves stated that the lake will be surveyed again at the end of June to evaluate the effectiveness of the initial treatment. Applications are usually done early in the week to specific areas which would not affect fishing or the upcoming lake swim in July. Groves stated that usually there is no fishing or swimming restrictions due to the lake treatments. The lake’s final treatment will be applied mid- August. Report only. Weed Pickup: Avery familiarized new board chairman Kurt Tribbett, who replaced Ken Kohs, with the weed pickup process. Drozdowski stated that the Goguac Lake Board’s mission is weed control and that weed pickup falls within that scope. Public Comment: Not present Board Member Comments: Tribbett questioned the difference between the Lake Association and the Goguac Lake Board. Avery and Karre gave a general overview of the Lake Association which deals with safety issues and the Goguac Lake Board which deals with weed control issues. Tiffany Welsh who works with Tribbett, introduced herself to the board. Meeting Adjourned: Avery adjourned the meeting at 4:39 p.m.
