Goguac Lake Board Meeting Minutes Department of Public Works Zoom Meeting December 3, 2020 Board Members Present: John Avery; Mark Behnke; Kathy-Sue Vette; Gerardyne Drozdowski; Others Present: Nelson Karre , attorney; Kurt Tribbett, City Engineer; Steve Hudson, City Assessor; Patty Hoch-Melluish, City Environmental; Paul Hausler, Progressive AE Call to Order: Avery called the meeting to order at 4:05 p.m. Approval of Minutes: Behnke moved to approve the September 3, 2020 minutes. All yes, motion carried. Quarterly Financial Report: Tribbett presented Goguac Lake Board Financial Report as of December 3, 2020.. There is a $777.01 year-end balance. Aquatic Plant Control: Hausler reported on the Progressive AE 2020 lake management and aquatic plant control services. There was abundant plant growth in 2020 due to the mild winter and warm summer. Hausler discussed the options for aquatic plant treatment (primarily Eurasian watermilfoil) for 2021. Hausler recommended the product ProcellaCOR due to the low-risk to aquatic organisms, less irrigation restrictions, and the lower cost when compared to Sonar. Avery motioned to approve ProcellaCOR for 2021, Behnke supported, all in favor. Meeting Dates for 2021: The Board approved the meeting dates for 2021 @ 4 pm. March 11, June 10, September 9, December 9 Public Comments: Tribbett discussed the Columbia Avenue stormwater diversion project. The City has applied for a grant to help offset some of the costs. Avery brought up the Michigan DNR boat launch site on the north end of the lake and the need for repair. Tribbett said that can be discussed when the Columbia Ave. project is scheduled. Boat launch repairs could potentially be done concurrently. Hoch-Melluish mentioned a boat wrap recycling program offered through the Recycling Coalition and Michigan EGLE. Hoch-Melluish will send more information to the Board and attendees. .
