Goguac Lake Board Meeting Minutes Department of Public Works Zoom Meeting March 11, 2021 Board Members Present: John Avery; Mark Behnke; Kathy-Sue Vette; Gerardyne Drozdowski; Ron Smith Others Present: Nelson Karre , attorney; Kurt Tribbett, City Engineer; Patty Hoch-Melluish, City Environmental; Tony Groves, Progressive AE Call to Order: Avery called the meeting to order at 4:03 p.m. Approval of Minutes:Drozdowski moved to approve the December 3, 2020 minutes. Vette supported. All yes, motion carried. Quarterly Financial Report: Tribbett presented Goguac Lake Board Financial Report as of March 11, 2021. There is a $52,439.73 2021 balance. $2,000 added to funds since Dec. 3, 2020 meeting. Drodzowski moved to approve the financial report. All yes, motion carried. Aquatic Plant Control/Water Quality Monitoring: Groves reported the first aquatic vegetation survey will occur in May to determine treatment plan for the season. ProcelliCOR herbicide will be used in 2021. Water quality monitoring will take place in the next couple weeks now that ice is off the lake. Public Comments: Hoch-Melluish discussed the Midwest Glacial Lakes Partnership grant that was submitted in Oct. 2020 to assist with funding the Columbia Rd. stormwater diversion from Goguac Lake. The project was one of the top six recommended for funding, but final funding details will be provided in April. Hoch-Melluish mentioned a boat wrap recycling program offered through the Recycling Coalition and Michigan EGLE. Hoch-Melluish will send more information to the Board for distribution. Board Member Comments: Avery discussed carrying capacity study and discussions with MDNR. Smith discussed augmentation wells and maintenance recommendations.
