Goguac Lake Board Meeting Minutes Department of Public Works Zoom Meeting June 10, 2021 Board Members Present: John Avery; Mark Behnke; Kathy-Sue Vette; Gerardyne Drozdowski; Ron Smith Others Present: Nelson Karre, attorney; Kurt Tribbett, City Engineer; Patty Hoch-Melluish, City Environmental; Steve Hudson, City Assessor; Pam Tyning, Progressive AE Call to Order: Avery called the meeting to order at 4:02 p.m. Approval of Minutes: Smith moved to approve the March 11, 2021 minutes. All yes, motion carried. Quarterly Financial Report: Tribbett presented Goguac Lake Board Financial Report as of June 10, 2021. There is a ($5,431.00) balance due to overdue assessments. There is an overall fund balance of $48,130.17. Board discussed they don’t need to be notified of delinquent assessments and will talk to City Treasurer. Smith asked if GLB would like to see pump operation costs, etc. that the County budgets. Smith will share with Goguac Lake Association. Drodzowski moved to approve the financial report, Smith seconded. All yes, motion carried. Aquatic Plant Control: Tyning reported the aquatic vegetation management activities to date. GLB discussed that weed management budget may need to be increased based on rising costs of herbicide treatment. Tribbett reported Gardner Bros. is beginning floating weed pick up. Phragmites Treatment: Phragmites were observed near the horseshoe canal area during the June 2 weed treatment survey. GLB supported looking at Barry, Calhoun, Kalamazoo CISMA help with treatment. Tyning will talk w/Hausler about this option. Public Comments: Hoch-Melluish said that 23 Goguac Lake Spring Newsletters were returned to the City. Names will be supplied to GLB and the newsletter will be posted on the Goguac Lake Association website.
