Police Report: No officer was present. Marcie passed out reports. A member mentioned that there were many
bottles being broken on 24th street around the school property. There were many incident reports that were
not in our NPC geographic area in the police report.
Public Service Announcements from Commissioners:
Commissioner Walters talked about the opening of the new Lakeview Assisted Living Facility, tours are available.
Jeff Domenico applauded the Lakeview Assisted Living Community for their great work within the neighborhood.
He has heard no complaints from the neighbors about the facility. It has a large conference room that the
owner, Scott Ganton would be willing to open up to the community.
Mary Lou Ramon shared that the grant came through for the sale of of several homes by the airport (Stone Jug
Road area). She also shared the city is still looking at the spay/neuter program. After the workshop, many
options are available. This issue will be up for a vote in November and she would like to hear opinions on it
Many questions arose around the prosecution of the two city police officers allegedly driving while intoxicated.
The case is still under investigation and there are many gray areas. The officers deserve due process so
prosecution is on hold at this time. Jeff Domenico answered questions about his, and two fellow commissioners,
choice to hold a public forum about this issue.
Committee Reports:
a. Membership : We are still looking for new members.
b. Beautiful Battle Creek Award‐ 1265 24th St was recommended
c. Neighborhood Planning‐ The Planning Commission meeting for 9‐26 was cancelled with nothing on the
agenda.
D. Woodland Park‐ Joyce shared pictures of the Salvation Army Children's Summer Camp held at the park
annually. There is going to be a Spooky Science Saturday 11an‐3pm October 27th at Kingman Museum and the
Woodland Park will have booth there. The QR code is working great. The Trail naming will be coming up soon.
Many of the donations to the park have been in kind donations rather than money. Members to the park
committee are always invited.
City Staff Report: Marcie passed out written reports. The report shows large number of weed enforcements.
These were done before it becomes winter and the slow growth season. Comments were made about the tall
field of weeds on Helmer and Columbia and how they really spread. Marcie was asked to check into branches
above the Woodland Park sign on Gethings that need trimming so they don't crush the sign. Many members
appreciated the work of the city and responding to complaints.
