MINGES BROOK/RIVERSIDE NEIGHBORHOOD PLANNING COUNCIL 11 MEETING MINUTES March 26, 2025 Chapel Hill United Methodist Church, 157 Chapel Hill Dr. Brad Miller, Vice President of Minges/Riverside Neighborhood Planning Council, called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. at the Chapel Hill Church. Attendance: Members Present: Amanda Miller, Brad Miller, Coleen Jewell, Dawn Hawks, David Hawks, Fran O’Neil, Ginsie Ingraham, Jan Frantz, Jane Prahl, Larry O’Neil, Linn Kracht, Pat Fosdick, and Brenda Bengtsson, Members Excused: None Members Absent: Al Sklenicka, Andrew Duke, Chris Bacik, Karen Jones, and Sharen Sklenicka Signed-in Guests: Terry Kipp, Paul & Polly Kruger, Russ & Mary Lanenga, Lynn Amari, Earl Lewis, Cindi Shell, Scott Peavy, Jenni Peavy, Audrey Slaiga, Ashley Iovieno, Bernard Gladney, Eric Kehoe and James Kilborn City Representatives: Chirs Simmons, Ted Dearing, Sherry Sufia, Officer Scott and Hellen Guzzo City Representatives Excused: Yolanda Johnson Additions or Deletions to the Agenda: Additions/Deletions: None. Correspondence and Announcements: None Guest speakers: Eric Kehoe and James Kilborn, Lakeview Downtown Development Plan (Beckly Road Plan) Committee and Staff Reports: a. Police Department – Ty Dilling – Officer Scott was filling in for Ty. Nothing new to report. At future meetings we will have Ty go first. b. Guest Speakers – Ginsie Ingraham and Jane Prahl are the chairs. See above for speakers. Future suggestions for speakers – transportation head, Lakeview School superintendent, city planner, water department and new city manager c. Code Compliance – Helen Guzzo /Yolanda Johnson – Helen will be filling in for Yolanda while she is out of the office. c. Planning Department/Neighborhood Services City Staff Report – No report. d. Beautiful Battle Creek Award Committee – Dawn and Dave Hawks chair this committee. The April house is located at 1000 Capital Ave. No business was selected this month. Coleen Jewel made a motion to approve the property. Second, by Dawn Hawks. Motion passed. In future months, the secretary will email Helen Guzzo and Yolanda Johnson about the selected house and/or business the day after the meeting. This will speed up the award process.  Recommendations for future awards need to be sent to Dawn and Dave one week before the meeting. e. Membership – no report f. Commissioners Comments – Chris and Sherry spoke. g. Lakeview Public Schools – no report g. Beckley Road Project – Jan Frantz Guest speaker this month.
