NORTHEAST PLANNING COUNCIL #4 (Fermont/Verona/McKinley) MEETING MINUTES March 19, 2025 First Congregational Church, 145 NE Capital Ave Date: 3.19.25 Members: Kim Perry, Tanya Waschek, Mary Conklin, Chuck Yarger, Kim Yarger, Dave Salerno Guests: Brennan Doughery, Rebecca Parker, Bryan Gandy, Craig Long, Jeff Woodside David chaired the meeting. After the introductions, the approval of the minutes was postponed due to a lack of quorum. Code: Bryan handed out compliance and inspection issues Feb-March. Trash and unlicensed vehicles headed the list. As the season progresses, tall grass will return. Rebecca questioned about vacant and abandoned commercial property, Tanya and Kim about houses in disrepair in their neighborhood, and Chuck about unlicensed vehicle repairmen. BCPS: Craig handed out the February crime analysis report. Hospital calls sometimes bump up the numbers on the list. Actively investigating drug houses and responding to retail fraud at Dollar General. Chuck questioned about the enforcement of unlicensed vehicles, Brennan about the impact of drug houses impact, and Kim about driving under the influence of marijuana. Crai g informed us about the difference between alcohol and drug enforcement. Rebecca praised the active shooting class that the police department put on in February. Comments: Mary finds the meeting interesting and informative. Chuck gave an update on fire station repair and replacement issues. Rebecca encouraged interest in volunteering at the Share Center.
