Columbia Ave., Battle Creek, MI. 49015 Minutes: February 8, 2018 Call to Order/Time convened: 7:15pm Due to change of venue to Freedom Firearms no key to get into Community Room of Michigan Tile & Carpet. Members Present: Joel E. Fulton, Cynde Foster, Jerry Dill, Penny Dill, Tim Marske, Gloria Mansfield, Patrick Barnett, Trudy Hall and Robert J. Kist. City Staff: Commissioner John Griffin, Commissioner Chris Simmons, Officers Herbstreith, Gancer and Longon. Absent Excused: Phyllis Hopkins and Cari Briggs. Absent Unexcused: Tim Conloque, Patel Prakasm, Angel Flores, and Frank Nemethy. Addition or Deletions to Agenda: None Approval of the Minutes: Motion by Patrick Barnett 2nd & Robert J. Kist to Approve January 11, 2018 minutes. Motion carried. Election of Officers: Chair: Joel E. Fulton - V Chair: Tim Conlogue – Secretary: Cynde Foster Motion by Joel E. Fulton - 2nd Tim Conlogue to accept officers as presented. Motion Carried. Correspondence and Announcements: None City Staff Report: Police Department - reports handed out. Officers Gancer & Longon talked About the Gang Suppression Unit, attended training in Kentucky. They also talked on Crime Prevention and Home Protection. Thieves are not stupid – they are lazy! Make it work to get into your home! Use 3” screws on your door jams to make it harder to get in. Use common sense with your vehicles, take your valuables inside or keep them out of sight. Free assessments are available for your home or business. Call 911 on abandoned vehicles so they are removed. Code: Handed out - call 966-3387 with any complaints. Committee Reports: Commissioner Report: Commissioner Simmons mentioned the Medical marijuana ordinances passed, the Blue Ribbon Committee, and Economic Development Breakfast.
