Fulton, Jerry Dill, Tim Marske Excused: Rob’t J. Kist, Trudy Hall City Staff: Chris Simmons (Ward 4 Commissioner), Kelly Dillman (BCPD), Officer Herbstreith (BCPD), Jim Bledsoe (Code Compliance) Guests: June Cortright, Janet Wilson (Chapel Hill Church), Kathy Domenico (Willard Library) Addition or Deletion to the Agenda: Election nominations for Officers Approval of the Minutes: November 8, 2018 Motion by Jerry Dillman, 2nd Tim Conlogue to approve the November 8, 2018 Minutes as presented. CARRIED City Staff Reports: Police Dept.: Reports were explained to us via a new program on the computer By Officer Herbstreith. The new format liked with graphs to compare To other NPC’s. Kelly Dillman reminded us of the “BE SAFE” (Byrne Grant) meetings Held the 4th Thursday of the month at the BC Police Dept. at 5:30pm. Kelly also announced that our NPC had received a $20,000 Grant To improve lighting and Safety in high crime areas. Code Reports: Reports were handed out. Committee Reports: Commissioner Report: Chris Simmons talked about Budget deficit. The City and Is asking for ideas they feel cuts could come from. Budget Meeting being held January 24, 2019 at the Dept. of Public Works on Kendall St. (Public invited). To hold down costs for Waste Management with new contract with the City; Recycling will be picked up every two weeks instead of weekly. Schools (Battle Creek/Lakeview): none Membership (new additions/deletions): none Beautiful Battle Creek Award (residential/or business) R- 345 Burr St. B-492 Capital Ave. SW Business Report: none Place Making Committee: none Old Business to be finalized: none New Business: Nominations for Elections next month were- Chair: none V. Chair: Tim Conlogue Secretary: Cynde Foster New Business for Future Meetings: Getting some speakers, maybe BCU Speaker: none Public/Guest Comments: Kathy Domenico from Willard Library handed out in- Formation on new programs being offered and a small flashlight with library Logo on it. Janet Wilson from Chapel Hill explained their Dream Coalition Housing for Our NPC area, and who they have as partners working with them. Chapel Hill Church has merged with Trinity Methodist Church; therefore, having the Trinity Church available to the neighborhood to use for functions. They are asking for Input on what uses we would like to see. A possible meal for the residents to Come and give their ideas in the spring of what kind of functions they’d like to see. Member Comments: Gloria mentioned the loss of Matt Flanders who attended our Meetings for years as a City employee. Adjournment: Time 8:10 PM by Joel E.
