Chair Kist called to order at 7 pm ATTENDANCE: Members: Bob Kist, Cynde Foster, Trudy Hall, Gloria Mansfield, Pastor Janet Wilson, Tim Cole, Carla Berner, Michelle Tyler Excused: Tim Conlogue, Cari Briggs, Al Berner, Jerry Dill, Penny Dill, Elisha Hodge, Bryan Mayes Absent: Jack Montague City Staff: Kim Brown (Code Compliance), COPS Officer Downey (BCPD) Guests: Eva Huddleston, Austin Kist-Oman, and Quinton Hay from the Land Bank (he is a member of Ameri Corps) ADDITION OR DELETIONS TO THE AGENDA: Have Tim Cole give update to Grant APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES: Motion by Cynde Foster 2nd Gloria Mansfield that the Minutes of August 10, 2023 be approved CARRIED CITY STAFF REPORTS: Police Dept: Officer Downey passed out reports. Talked about theft of 9 cars, aggravated assaults, damage to property, warrant arrests, drug arrests Abandoned cars. He made a point of locking your cars. Code Reports: Kim Brown handed out code reports. A lot of weeds and junk accumulation reports. The Paint Program for homeowners is being used. COMMITTEE REPORTS: Commissioner Report: None in attendance Schools- Battle Creek & Lakeview Public school districts: None Membership (new additions/deletions): Our Membership List needs attention since Covid. Removal of Tim Marske and David Henkel as they have not attended Since we have reconvened. Bidwell St., Battle Creek MI 49015 Were resolution to be reappointed to NPC3 Membership as discussed on September 2022 (first meeting after Covid and reorganizing)  And in August 2023 Minutes that Michelle Tyler 527 Lakeview Ave., Battle Creek MI 49015 to be appointed to NPC3 Membership Beautiful Battle Creek Award (Residential and/or Business): R-91 Frisbie B-79 Upton St (Thomas & Maxson Inc) Businesses Report: Plumeria is putting up their signs Networking Committee: Tim Cole gave an update on the Grant Application with the Battle Creek Community Foundation. We received $350 stipulated to support Communication with residents within the boundaries of NPC3, yard signs, flyers and newspapers. A check was electronically transferred Into the bank account of your fiscal sponsor-Trinity Community Development, Inc. When speaking of the Grant with media and the larger community pleas use the following language: “This Program Project was made Possible in part by a Grant from the Battle Creek Community Foundation.” Call 269-962-2181 if we want to use their Logo. The Grant is Awarded for a period of 12 months-beginning on 9/6/2023. NPC3 will complete a BCCFoundation “grant report” one month following the End of the grant period. Reporting should be submitted digitally through the Foundation’s grant portal. Fresh Food Distribution Dates of 2023 at 10 W.
