Bidwell St. Battle Creek, MI 49015 Minutes of June 20, 2024 June 2024 Minutes Meeting on the 13th was canceled and held on the 20th (Due to severe weather on the 13th) DRAFT CALL TO ORDER/TIME CONVENED: 7 PM ATTENDANCE: Members: Tim Conlogue, Robert Kist, Cynde Foster, Tim Cole, Pastor Janet Wilson, Gloria Mansfield, Tim Cole, Carla BernerCarla Berner Excused: Al Berner, Elisha Hodge Mayes, Bryan Mayes Absent: Jerry Dill, Penny Dill, Cari Briggs, Michelle Tyler City Staff: Police Department: Officer Downey passed out reports and gave a synopsis of them. He also passed out a News Release for extra Officers to focus on “traffic offenses” June 23-29, 2024. Guest: Johanna Durrett ADDITION OR DELETIONS TO THE AGENDA: None. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES: Motion by Gloria Mansfield 2nd by Tim Conlogue to approve the Minutes for March 14, 2024 - April 11, 2024 - May 9, 2024. Carried. CITY STAFF REPORTS: Police Department: reports were handed out that Officer Dilling dropped off Code Reports: None (code person absent) COMMITTEE REPORTS: Commissioner Report: The City is in the process of hiring a new City Attorney as Attorney Steele is retiring August 1, 2024. They contacted Michigan Municipal League to find qualified applicants. One was sent, William Kim from Flint. A Q & A followed between Chris and the members present. Schools: Battle Creek Public Schools and Lakeview School District: None Membership (new additions/deletions): Motion by Cynde Foster 2nd Tim Conlogue to delete Eva Huddleston and Michelle Tyler from NPC3 Membership as they no longer live in Battle Creek. Carried. Beautiful Battle Creek Award (Residential and/or Business): R-417 S. Washington Business Report: There is a new drive-thru coffee business going in at 610 W. Columbia (on the site of the old State Police Post) called Scotter’s. Networking Committee: Discuss how to spend the rest of the Grant received from Battle Creek Community Foundation; whether we want to do more signs, flyers, or ads in the Shopper—more discussion in August.
