NORTHEAST PLANNING COUNCIL #4 (Fermont/Verona/McKinley) MEETING MINUTES June 19, 2024 First Congregational Church, 342 NE Capital Ave DRAFT Members: Dave Morgan, Kim and Chuck Yarger, Mary Conklin, Mary Lusk, Roger Koning, Boonikka Herring, David Salerno Guests: Craig Long May Minutes Approved. The Yargers and Mary Conklin did not receive the minutes. ckyarger@sbcglobal.net conklinmary195017@gmail.com BCPD: Craig passed out the May crime report. Plan to focus on traffic in the coming week, checking for speeding licenses, and insurance. Solicited members for any particular areas of concern. Took note of intersections with obstructed stop signs. Membership: Craig Long was approved for membership. cwlong@battlecreekmi.gov Comments: Chuck reported on the fire station restoration meetings he has attended. Voiced approval for the $25 million bond that needs to pass in order for the projects to proceed. The plan is to preserve the Cliff St and Washington stations as historic sites. Dave Morgan commented on the possibility of a signal for police cars entering Division St. Mary Lusk said First Presbyterian Church plans movie night Fridays at 8:30, June 21, July 26, and August 16.
