Bidwell St. Battle Creek, MI 49015 November 14, 2024 Minutes DRAFT CALL TO ORDER/TIME CONVENED: 7 PM ATTENDANCE: Members: Tim Conlogue, Robert Kist, Cynde Foster, Gloria Mansfield Excused: Pastor Janet Wilson, Elisha Hodge Mayes, Bryan Mayes Absent: Cari Briggs, Jerry Dill, Penny Dill City Staff: Yolanda Johnson (code Officer), Officer Jonathan Lee (BCPD) Guests: Jessica Lamson (filling Pastor Janet's position at TNC), Pat Fostick (senior living on Dickman Rd), Johanna Durrett ADDITION OR DELETIONS TO THE AGENDA: None. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES: The Minutes of October 8, 2024, could not be approved quorum CITY STAFF REPORTS: Police Department- Officer Lee handed out reports and explained the report numbers. Asked for any questions or problems. With the clocks back and it being dark sooner, there is an opportunity for crimes to occur of people not being alert to crimes of people unloading groceries to their homes leaving their cars open and unattended Close curtains and light up dark areas. 100 Leaf got their door kicked in (the thieves were in and out within 5 minutes. The Police can check your homes when out of town- just call to request this service. Code Reports: Yolanda Johnson in for Kim Brown handed out reports. Megan Root is the new weed fairy and handles snow & ice in the winter. She went over the report and mentioned a few problems with complaints from apartment complexes and that the complaints go under the main address, and each apartment. Some have no current rental permit. Code and the Police Department work together on problems with abandoned houses. Committee Reports: Commissioner Report: None Schools: Battle Creek Public Schools and Lakeview Schools: None Membership (new additions/deletions): Renewal of Membership of Tim Conlogu, Robert Kist, Cynde Foster and Tim Cole. New Membership of Jessica Lamson Beautiful Battle Creek Award (Residential and/or Business): None Business Report: None Networking Committee: Tim Cole reported an Ad was placed in the Shopper from the Grant from the Battle Creek Community Foundation to promote NPC 3 to encourage Membership. OLD BUSINESS TO BE FINALIZED: None. NEW BUSINESS: None. NEW BUSINESS FOR FUTURE MEETINGS: Gloria said she had contacted Summit Point for a speaker and hasn't had her call returned. SPEAKER: John Hart rescheduled last months date to tonight; but, didn't show or call to say why. PUBLIC/GUEST COMMENTS: None MEMBER COMMENTS: Cynde mentioned the "Retirement Party" for Pastor Janet Wilson on December 6, 2024, at Trinity Neighborhood Center at 6 PM. RSVP by November 22 “I RSVP for 4 from us.” REMINDED THAT THERE IS NO MEETING IN DECEMBER. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone.
