He will check on their ability to sort the current report. Lawns and weeds complaints are growing due to summer. There are about 700 vacant and abandoned structures on the list now. Owners have a 6 month grace period before a structure is considered vacant. This is a policy decision not a code issue. The property at 411 Capital Ave NE will be demolished. The buildings at 421‐429 Capital Ave NE have been declared Dangerous Buildings. City Commission Sherry Sofia – Ward 4 Commissioner • City budget is approved. • The Emily Andrus Home Special Use Permit has been tabled. • There will be a water shutoff on Chestnut street. Lynn Ward Gray – Ward 3 Commissioner • 911 Expansion meeting at at 6pm on Thu Jun 26. • Ward 2 Town Hall Meeting is showing on Access Vision next Thursday at 5:30 or can be seen on accessvision.tv Andy Helmboldt – At‐Large Commissioner • Andy was not present County Commission Jim Haadsma – District 3 Jim’s was not present NPC Reports Chairman’s Report Planning Commission No Planning Commission meeting this month Historic District Commission No Historic District Commission meeting this month Zoning Board of Appeals No Zoning Board meeting this month Committee Reports Membership Committee Laurie Sullivan has submitted her resignation. Merritt Woods Jonna Siano was present to introduce herself as President of the Neighborhood Association. Calhoun Street Community House • No report Action Items – Restated from above • Motion: Direct the chair to make an official request to the city for a list of all registered rental properties in NPC #4 and non‐homestead properties. By Dave Nielsen; second by Sherry Sofia; passed 8‐0. • Accepted with regret Laurie Sullivan’s resignation. Motion by Dave Nielsen, Second by Marcia. Passed 8‐0 • We will be meeting in both July and August at the normal scheduled time. Old Business • NPC Secretary – We are waiting on the City Commission to officially appoint Laura Adams as a member of this NPC. • Update on the Latta St. Childcare issue. • Summer Meeting schedule – see action items. New Business • There is a report of homes on North Ave and the corner of Capital Ave NE and Fremont street behind used as drug rehab residency homes. • Brief discussion of hosting a Community Forum similar NPC#2.
