The meeting started with the introduction of guests / members. With quorum met the Oct
minutes were approved after the amount of property value increase in our npc over the last
ten years was corrected from $250 billion to $250 million ( quarter of a billion ).

police: Officer Downey went over the Oct crime report. Victoria questioned why crime stats
from downtown were not included in the report. They will work on including them in the
future. (matter of different sectors)
code compliance: Jerrod commented on the handout that the junk accumulation violations
could be attributed to the lack of timely pickup by Republic. Dave M wanted an inspection
of a vacant Maple Terrace property.
commission: Sherry gave out the Republic phone # 269 216 8008. Provisioning centers
contributed $1.7million to the city since 2019. $1million in permitting fees to the city and
$.7million reimbursement from the state. The resolution to expand business hours from
9pm to midnight passed. Patrick O'Donnel elected ward 3 commissioner.
BCPS: Deondra said the bond that passed last Nov specified improvements to
Northwestern and Springfield middle school ( Northwestern as a K-8 arts center
). They have formed over 100 partnerships to involve K-12 students in community service.
Fremont traffic problems were discussed.
membership: Dave Morgan approved as member by commission. Deondra approved by
npc members for readmission 8-0.
comments: JP noted speeding on Orchard and Sherman, panhandlers across from the Y
center, Mary C finds the meeting informative, Sherry was encouraged by the 40% turnout
in an off year election. Mary L gave an invite to everyone for the 7pm Christmas eve service
at First Presbyterian Church, Deondra said after school programs need volunteers, noted
speeding on North Ave and Calhoun, Robert suggested getting a check up before
engaging in winter activities, Victoria commented on homeless people downtown. Officer
Downey said some do not want help or are banned from the shelter for misconduct.
