Neither did Mary Conklin. JP read the minutes for Jan. Quorum met, Nov minutes were approved. Jan minutes approved with the omission of the term plowboys for snowplow drivers. JP distributed the BC area transportation study’s list of projects for fiscal year 2022. Code: Jerrod informed us that property surveys of NPC #4 neighborhoods are on their agenda beginning in March. Waste removal by Republic is improving but trash accumulation still an issue. City not providing plastic for mattresses might be one reason. BCPS: Carrie distributed handouts about upcoming middle school information sessions targeting current 5th graders, and about BC Central HS career academies that highlighted a study visit to the Academies of Nashville. Showed a concern of safety for students that did not return from the COVID shutdown. Modifications to Northwestern continue into the summer, which will focus on K-8 arts. Commission: Sherry explained her concern over the commemorative flag controversy. A plan to fly different flags in place of the city flag has not been thought out. Budget process will be on the upcoming commission agenda. Downtown: Tristan, from Cafe Rica gave an upbeat appraisal of downtown. The opening of New Holland Brewery should be a shot in the arm. South siders who have not been downtown in years are returning. Asked about spring cleanup. JP suggested Benjamin Park. Comments: JP noted a definite lack of shade during the summer in the neighborhood. Trees that have been removed are not being replaced. Both Carrie and Tristan had trees removed from their yards during the lead water line replacement. Mary Conklin finds the meetings informative. Iesha noted the Riverwalk parking lot full. Adjourn 7:45 Next meeting: Mar 15, 7pm
