MEETING MINUTES
March 20, 2024

BCPD: After the introductions, Craig handed out the Feb report reflecting crime trending down.
Noted motor vehicle thefts by juveniles, working with land banks on their Merritt St properties,
and being compassionate with owners of non-operating vehicles.
Code: Bryan handed out compliance and inspection issues for Feb and March, junk vehicle and
accumulation accounting for a little less than half the issues. McKinley St wood business
getting cleaned up. Yard waste pickups begin Apr 8.
Land Bank: Quinton reported the County received a 3 million dollar grant for the repair of property
they own. 26 Fremont, 68 Frelinghuysen, and 122 North Ave in NPC 4 are among them.
BC Unlimited: Heather and Bridgette updated us on the planned opening of the 247 room
Double Tree by Hilton hotel in Aug '24. Announced 165 job openings with a Suite Collaborative
of community organizations offering programming and educational opportunities to people
interested in a hospitality career. Also handed out a flyer about a networking event, Calhoun
Builders Connection, the 4th Friday of the month at Torti Taco Bar and Grill, providing support to
existing and emerging building contractors.
Minutes: Jan and Feb minutes approved.
Membership: Khyrinn Herring was nominated for membership. Approval was unanimous. Her

Comments: Mary Lusk said First Presbyterian Church is holding a Summer Camp for grades 1-
8 at their youth building June - Aug. Also planning outdoor movies this summer. Mary Conklin
finds the meeting informative. Autumn offered petitions to put R F Kennedy Jr and Justin
Amash on the ballots.
