Council Minutes – December 10, 2012
Meeting at Christ United Methodist Church
65 North Bedford Road
Call to Order: The meeting was called to order at 7:00 PM by Robert Whitfield, chair.
Attendance: Robert Whitfield, Chair; Dale Stratton; Nate Zanotti; David Moore; Carl
Brockman; Fred Bachman; Joe Britvec; Stan Beckwith; Barbara Beckwith; Sara Schmanske;
Mary Lou Ramon; Dennis McKinley; Rebecca Runyon
A moment of silence was observed
Previous Minutes: November 2012 minutes were approved by voice vote.

Police Report: None
Guest Speaker: None
Commissioner’s Report: None
School Report: None
Code Report: Written – Announcement made of new code officer for Urbandale effective
January 1, 2013 is Eric Morris.
Membership: Carl Brockman reported Deborah Gregory & Josh Fausey as excused absences.
Beautiful Battle Creek Award: The award went to 19 Parkridge as reported by Dale Stratton.
Old Business: Revisions to the speaker schedules are as follows: Robert Whitfield and Carl
Brockman will be obtaining speakers for March 2013 and May 2013.
New Business: Speaker for January will be Tony Rice who is an educator at the Math &
Science Center as arranged by Dale Stratton.
Public Comment: Commissioner Mary Lou Ramon discussed the animal ordinance on
sterilization and how this proposed ordinance is no longer being considered at this time.
Dave Walters was appointed to the planning commission; Mayor Susan Baldwin and Vice
Mayor Elizabeth Fulton were re-elected.
Nominating Committee: None per Nate Zanotti
Adjournment: Chair Whitfield adjourned the meeting at 7:50 PM
