Rural Southwest Neighborhood Planning Council
Southside Bible Church (Corner of S.Minges & Beckley Rd.)
Minutes
10 Jan 2012 Meeting
Call to Order: Meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m.
Members and Citizens Present: Harry Zimmerman, Linda Morris, Laura Clingenpeel, Robert Harland, ,Jeanne Miralrio
and Mike Fatt
City Officials: Chris Hilton, Jeff Domenico, and Officer Tanya Wilk.
Officer Wilk introduced herself and said she would be the Public Service representative at our meetings.
Chris Hilton gave the code enforcement report and handed out the public service report. She clarified that there is a city
ordinance against leaf burning. Regarding Advantage Physical Therapy, monitoring will begin again in the Spring (once
the growing season begins).
Old business:
Mike Fatt reported that he, Rex and Shelby Winslow met with Pastor Hess at the Ball Joint site and discussed the
Church’s plans. Being satisfied, Mike Fatt wrote a letter of endorsement on behalf of the group.
New Business: Mike Fatt reported that the Zoning Board of Appeals had approved dimensional variance for an access
road narrower than specified by code, which will allow further development of commercial property near 3508 Capital
Avenue (near Raymond James). Discussion took place as to whether the NPC’s opinion should have been solicited in this
matter. Chris Hilton explained that, given that the matter is a non-use variance AND SUBJECT TO STRICT CRITERIA
RELATIVE TO THE PROPERTY ITSELF, the NPC would typically not be consulted.
The November minutes were approved and the meeting was adjourned at 7:10 p.m.
Next meeting: Tuesday 14 February 2012 at 6:30 p.m. at South Side Bible Church.
