Neighborhood Planning Council 9 - Rural Southwest

Rural Southwest Neighborhood Planning Council Southside Bible Church – corner of S. Minges & Beckley Rd. Minutes of January 8, 2013 Meeting Call to Order: The meeting was called to order at 6:30 PM by Harry Zimmerman. Members and Citizens Present: Laura Clingenpeel, Robert Harland, Durwood McCleary, Linda Morris, Ken Rakoski, George Wytko, Sally Wytko, Harry Zimmerman Motion made by Linda Morris and seconded by George Wytko to approve the November minutes. Linda Morris distributed the NPC Code Report, the BCATS report of Federally Funded Transportation Projects, and the Crime Search Report. Old Business: Following a discussion regarding a slate of officers for the planning council due to Mike Fatts resignation and move, Linda Morris agreed to act as chairperson and George Wytko as vice- chairperson for this council. Sally Wytko will perform secretarial duties. Motion made by S. Wytko, seconded by D. McCleary. The slate of candidates was approved New Business: After reviewing the current membership roster, Ken Rakoski was appointed to replace Greg Zanotti who no longer attends our council meetings. Durwood McCleary, Linda Morris, Rex Winslow, and Shelby Winslow were reappointed to three year terms expiring in 2016. Motion made by L Morris, seconded by S. Wytko and approved by the council. The council reaffirmed the name of the council as City of Battle Creek Neighborhood Council #9 sometimes referred to as the Rural Southwest Neighborhood Council #9. In addition, the council also reaffirmed the May 10, 2005 Uniform By-laws of the council. Motion made by L.Clingenpeel, seconded by D. McCleary. Motion passed. (See attachment) Suggestion was made by Linda Morris that we ask the city to include a flyer encouraging attendance at neighborhood planning council meetings with the monthly Refuse bills.
