Minutes of the May 10, 2016 Meeting
Call to Order: The meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm by Linda Morris.
Members Present: Kingery Clingenpeel, Robert Harland, Linda Morris, Cindy Snyder, Robert Snyder, Shelby
Winslow, George Wytko, Sally Wytko, Harry Zimmerman
Members Excused: Rex Winslow,

City Officials Present: Mayor Dave Walters: Planning Supervisor Chris Zuzga; BCPD Officer Todd Elliott;

Approval of the Minutes: The minutes for April 12, 2016 were approved (Motions by S. Winslow/ G. Wytko)

Public Service Announcements:
Officer Elliott distributed the Crime Report for April. He discussed the increase in larceny and break-ins, the
light signals along Beckley at M66 and Six Mile Rd., speeding along Watkins, Gethings, and Sonoma, and the
function of the Interdiction Team. We were reminded to be sure to contact the police whenever we observe
someone we deem to be suspicious, to keep valuables out of sight in cars and houses, and to keep doors and
windows locked in our homes and vehicles. Congestion at the intersection of Capital Ave. SW and Lois Drive
was discussed. Linda Morris will email the traffic engineer and other officials about this.
Mayor Walters discussed the possibility of international students from China and South Korea who would study
here for one year, and the positive economic impact it would have on the community.
Old Business:
Linda Morris discussed the May 2nd NPC Leadership meeting.
Shelby Winslow has contacted two landscapers for bids on cleaning up the berm at Beckley Road and Lois
Drive. We will apply for an NPC grant to cover this work.
New Business:
We were encouraged to attend the Master Plan Workshop May 11. Open House is from 4:00 to 8:00 pm and
specific Beckley Road and Old Lakeview – Capital Ave. Corridor breakout sessions at 5:00 and 6:00 pm.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:00 p.m. Motions by G. Wytko/R. Harland
