Minutes of the April 11, 2017 Meeting
Call to Order: The meeting was called to order at 7:25 pm by George Wytko. (Our meeting was relocated to First
Christian Church.)
Members Present: Kingery Clingenpeel, Laura Clingenpeel, Linda Morris, Cindy Snyder, Robert Snyder, Shelby
Winslow, George Wytko, Sally Wytko, Harry Zimmerman
City Officials Present: Chris Zuzga, Planning Department; Darren Campbell City Engineer, Officer Tom Burke, BCPD
Guest Present: Amanda Lankerd, BC Vision/United Way
Members Excused: Rex Winslow,
Approval of the Minutes: The minutes for March 14, 2017 were approved as printed. Motions by L. Clingenpeel/L.
Morris.
City Staff Updates:
Officer Burke distributed the Foot Patrol/Traffic Stops, and the Part 1 Crimes reports for the month of March in
the Rural Southwest. He told us that empty houses which are for sale are often a target for burglars. He also
reminded us that the police will check on homes when we notify them of extended vacations. In addition he
responded to several questions.
Chris Zuzga distributed the Code Compliance report for March 15, 2017 to April 11, 2017, and a flyer on the city’s
roof repair program.
Darren Campbell discussed the road repair schedule for this summer. He reported that affected residents will
be notified prior to work on their roads.
Presentation:
Amanda Lankerd from BC Vision and The United Way discussed the background, three main focuses, and goals of BC
Vision. She distributed a Transportation Survey and other materials to explain their process. She encouraged
questions and comments regarding our vision for the community.
Old Business:
The landscaping grant has been submitted.
New Business:
A pet directory will soon be on Nextdoor Neighbor.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:20 p.m. Motions by B. Snyder/H. Zimmerman.
