Rural Southwest Neighborhood Planning Council St. Peter Lutheran Church Minutes of the September 11, 2018 Meeting Call to Order: The meeting was called to order at 7: 00 pm by George Wytko. Members Present: Kingery Clingenpeel, Laura Clingenpeel, Melissa Sawyer (Humane Society), Bob Harland, Shelby Winslow, George Wytko, Sally Wytko, Members Excused: Cindy Snyder, Robert Snyder City Officials Present: Officer Jordan Pardee, BCPD; Chris Zuzga, City of Battle Creek, Approval of the Minutes: The minutes for June 12, 2018 were not approved because a quorum was not present when this was brought up on the agenda. Public Service Announcements: Officer Jordan Pardee introduced himself and distributed the Rural Southwest Foot Patrols & Traffic Stops report from 8/1/2018 – 8/31/2018. He discussed B & E’s and reminded us to keep the doors of our homes locked as larcenies have occurred while occupants have been present. City Staff Updates: The Code Compliance Report for 6/12/2018 -9/10/2018 was distributed. Chris discussed the medical marijuana provision center application approval process, the new U-Haul facility at the site of the old Toys R’Us store, and she was questioned about permit applications for generators. Several members thanked Chris for her help with a garbage situation on their road. Old Business: Kingery Clingenpeel reported on the August NPC leadership meeting. New Business: Melissa Watson discussed the upcoming Trick or Treat Trail for Kids and Dogs which will take place at the Humane Society on October 27. Laura Clingenpeel offered to serve on the NPC nominating committee for 2019 officers. Willard Library will be sending a representative to our October meeting.
