CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION MINUTES Tuesday, July 02, 2024 at 6:45 PM Baxter City Hall, 13190 Memorywood Drive, Baxter, MN “A Growing Community” CALL TO ORDER Mayor Olson called the meeting to order at 6:45 p.m. ROLL CALL Mayor Darrel Olson and Council Members Connie Lyscio, Zach Tabatt, Jeff Phillips, and Mark Cross were present. City Administrator Brad Chapulis, Assistant City Administrator Kelly Steele, Police Chief Jim Exsted, Public Works Director Trevor Walter, Finance Director Jeremy Vacinek, and Community Development Director Josh Doty were present. BUSINESS ITEMS 1. Proposed Amendments to Title 2 of City Code – Boards/Commissions City Administrator Chapulis explained earlier this year the council directed staff to take the necessary steps to dissolve the Long Range Planning Commission. The dissolvement of the commission does require the adoption of various amendments to the comprehensive plan and city code to reflect the dissolvement as well as the assignment of their responsibilities. The proposed amendment to the comprehensive plan was presented to the commission in June. The amendment is scheduled to be considered by the planning commission on July 9th and the council on July 16th. The council did not express any concerns with the proposal. ADJOURN MOTION by Council Member Cross, seconded by Council Member Lyscio to adjourn at 6:54 p.m. Motion carried unanimously.
