I: 1 BELGRADE CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES COUNCIL CHAMBERS Special Meeting August 9, 2021 5: 30 PM This meeting was open to the public and attended both in-person and via Zoom video. Mayor Russell C. Nelson called the meeting to order. Council Members in attendance were Brad Cooper, Mike Meis, Jim Simon, Kristine Menicucci and Ken Smith. Council Member in attendance via Zoom was Jim Doyle. City staff in attendance were City Clerk Susan Caldwell, Admin Assistant Dana Jambor and Human Resources Manager Sherry Brown. City staff in attendance via Zoom were City Manager Ted Barkley, City Attorney Jorden Ramler, Finance Director Diane Eagleson and Judge Andy Bruener. Others in attendance were Tiffany Maierle and Kristi Gee. Others in attendance via Zoom were Greg Prothman and Diana Setterberg. PUBLIC FORUM Mayor Nelson called three times for public comment. There being none, public forum was closed. EXECUTIVE SESSION Discuss Applicants for the position of City Manager and review list of finalists for interview At 5: 33pm, Mayor Nelson announced the closure of the public portion of the meeting and opened the Executive Session to discuss hiring strategy related to the position of City Manager. All City Council Members, City Manager, City Clerk, Admin Assistant, Human Resources Manager and Executive Recruitment agent Greg Prothman remained in session. At 5: 58pm, Mayor Nelson ended the executive session and reopened the meeting to the public. City Manager Barkley noted that the names of the applicants under consideration would not be released to the public as a matter of privacy until they had agreed to attend an official interview as was the practice in such recruitments.
