BELGRADE PARK AND RECREATION BOARD MEETING MINUTES PUBLIC WORKS CONFERENCE ROOM October 12th, 2021 6:30 PM Park Board Chairperson Perry called the meeting to order at 6:33 p.m. Park Board (PB) members in attendance were Chairperson Diana Perry, Board members Jim Simon, Renae Mattimoe, and Vivian Crouse. City staff in attendance were Public Works Administrative Assistant Lisa Blank. This meeting was recorded. Action: Board member Simon motions to approve Meeting Minutes from September 14th, 2021 meeting. Chairperson Crouse seconds the motion. All in favor Public Forum: No public in attendance. Reports: Director’s Report: Nothing to report. Discussion: Pump Track There was not an actual design available for the current Park Board meeting, so Emily Decker was not in attendance for an update. Director Klotz did encourage Park Board to send a letter of recommendation to City Council to consider Prescott Park as the location for the proposed Pump Track with the condition that Emily Decker present community research prior to a final decision. Board member Mattimoe agreed that Prescott Park is the most plausible space for the proposed Pump Track. Although, the focus on play equipment should be a “stage 3” project after the Pump Track and structures are completed. Board member Simon did support the use of Prescott Park for the proposed Pump Track. He thinks it’s a good area and is a much-needed option for Belgrade. As for the play equipment, he thought that park Board could try budget for the play equipment if there is a decision to add play equipment in the future. Board member Mattimoe recommends to City Council that Prescott Park be considered for the use of a bicycle Pump Track with the condition that she also provide City Council some community feedback. Board member Simon seconds the motion. All in Favor. Lewis and Clark Park Play Equipment Administrative Assistant Lisa Blank Shared that the Lewis and Clark Park existing Play Equipment had been removed after Fall Festival and the sight has been prepped for the new Playground Equipment that was set to ship October 14, 2021. The decking may need to be installed in the Spring of 2022 due the low temperatures expected during this time of year. The Park Board members did not have any questions or input other than activity on social media. Belgrade Baseball Agreement Administrative Assistant Lisa Blank stated that there had been no response from Jeremy with Belgrade Baseball at the time of the Park Board meeting. She said she would email Jeremy again and inquire about who the contact might be for the 2022 Baseball Season. No comments or questions from the Park Board. For Your Information: Board member Simon informed the Park Board the current City Manager Barkley was retiring Friday 10-15-2021: there will a reception for him in the council room on Friday 1-15 from 3:30pm to 6:00pm. The new City Manager Neil Cardwell will start Monday 10-18-2021. Board member Mattimoe gave a large Thank you to the operators/Public Works for all the hard work they did to get the city ready for Fall Festival!
