Approval of the HARB meeting minutes: August 24, 2021 meeting minutes
Project Review and Public Comments:
145 W. High Street (Suzanne’s Fine Cuts) – install mini-split heat pump on the side of the
building, facing Spring Street. Placement will be under the fire escape about 10 ft off the ground.
Product description: Fujitsu AOU24RLXFW1, 24,000 Btu, 20 SEER outdoor unit.
o Suzanne Krebs, business owner, or Brian Vonada, contractor, will be present to
discuss the project
460 E. Linn Street – Door and window replacement project. Replace front door and side/kitchen
door. Permanently remove storm doors. Replace windows throughout house with Renewal by
Anderson to match current style and color or current windows.
o Bridget Taylor, home owner, will be present to discuss the project.
349 E. Curtin Street – Place a non-permanent shed at the rear of property. Shed would be 12ft x
20ft with access from Ardell Lane. The structure will be professionally installed by “Nittany
Structures” of Mill Hall. The shed will be painted in a similar color scheme as the main house.
Shed will be wood siding and shingle roof.
o Chris & Amy Beauton, home owners, will be present to discuss the project.
120 W. High Street (Elks) – Install 4ft x 6ft canvas sign to be placed over front porch of Elks
Lodge; red, white, and blue sign with Elk’s logo.
o Raymond Holsing, Exalted Ruler, will be present to discuss the project.
217 N. Allegheny (Verizon Building) – HVAC upgrades to the building to provide additional
cooling for telephone equipment. Windows along the side wall are being replaced with louvers
and (3) three condensing units are being placed on the roof. Requesting approval for: New roof
top condensing units, New louvers along the side wall facing adjacent residence
o Shawn Ulery, Ulery Architecture, LLC, will be present to discuss the project.
421 E. Curtin Street – Bed & Breakfast sign to be hung on a bar of existing lamp post in front
yard of residence by public sidewalk. Sign will be aluminum with vinyl overlay; dark green with
gold lettering; 18”x12”
o Dave and Janice Provan, property owners, will be present to discuss the project.
Information/Discussion Items:
League of Women Voters Centre County – banner request (no HARB action needed)
o Talked to Matt Auman – The hometown hero banners don’t have the eyelets on the
bottom that was used in the example photo (from State College). Also, our poles are not
as tall, so the hanging would not fit below the Hometown Hero banners. There is a
significant labor cost involved to hang these banners. It was suggested that they hang a
banner across the street instead during election season.
