Call to Order Roll Call Gene Knutson, Chair Jack Weiss, Daniel Hammill, Pinky Vargas, Terry Bornemann, Roxanne Murphy Excused: Michael Lilliquist Council Standing Committee Meetings: Committee Of The Whole 20710 1. Appointment of Hearing Examiner Jack Weiss/Terry Bornemann moved to recommend confirmation of Mayor's appointment for a two year contract. MOTION CARRIED 6-0. 2. Approval of City Council Committee and/or Special Meeting Minutes Roxanne Murphy/Jack Weiss moved approval of the January 12th committee meeting minutes as submitted. MOTION CARRIED 6-0. 3. Old/New Business Gene Knutson:  Tonight we will schedule the annual City Council retreat.  He will adjourn the Committee of the Whole in the Mayor's Boardroom since there is an event in Chambers at 4:00 1 Jack Weiss:  Would like to come up with a clear protocol for how Council Members respond to written citizen correspondence. Suggested that Gene, as President, triage the citizen mail by assigning to Council Members. Will be discussed at the retreat.  Noted that over 100 people were using the playground at Squalicum Creek Park on this beautiful day. The rest of the park is scheduled to open in a few months. Terry Bornemann:  Thanked Marie Marchand for her role in helping organize the City of Bellingham's 2015 Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration.  There is no mountain biking allowed in the Sehome Arboretum, contrary to what a Bellingham magazine recently published. Roxanne Murphy:  Thanked the Mount Baker Bicycle Club for their input into the Bicycle Master Plan.  Encouraged people to give money to www.makeshiftproject.com to get a community radio station started.
